Why Therapy?

Many of us have wrestled with the need for change. For some change is easy; and for others, it is quite difficult. Therapy is for the latter, when problems don’t or won’t go away on their own. Therapy provides people with an accepting and non-judgmental space to talk about their difficulties. Therapy also helps support people to develop skills to reduce the impact of stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, sleep difficulties, and to help create more fulfilling lives. Whatever the concern, change can happen when you find the right person with the skills to help.

Therapy Can Provide Relief From:

Happy couple

  • Anxiety

  • Difficulties in managing anger

Types of Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT): The main focus of CBT is that thoughts, feelings and behaviours combine to influence a person’s quality of life. CBT aims to teach people that it is possible to have control over their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The result is more positive feelings, which in turn lead to more positive thoughts and behaviours.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT supports people to become more aware of what gives their lives purpose and to learn skills to reduce the impact of emotional pain on their lives. It achieves this through practical skills, mindfulness and connecting with a person’s values.
